So I used my sweet little Emmy to test out the diaper.  She was 7 months old at the time.  I was given the green bamboo diaper and one insert.  I was very impressed the minute I first touched the bamboo diaper because it was ridiculously soft!  You can see the diaper I tested here.  These diapers are made of a blend of organic cotton and bamboo.  This is a pocket diaper and the insert is made of 3 layers of bamboo.  The diaper is one size fits all meaning the diaper fits between 8-40lbs.  The cover has snaps that will snap up or down according to the size that you need.  One feature I really liked on this diaper was the extra leg snaps to ensure the fit was secure around Emmy’s tiny little thighs.  Emelia only weighed 14 pounds so I had the diaper buttoned to the smallest setting.  One thing I loved was the inside of the diaper had a grey fabric that helped when she pooped – there was no staining (as opposed to the white fabric catching the poo on my Bumgenius diapers).

And now I will admit something that I should probably be embarrassed to say and MIGHT qualify me as a bad Mom, but here goes.  I decided one day that I was not going to change the Tender Tushies diaper before she went down for her nap.  She had already had it on for 2 hours and I always change her right before putting her down.  But I thought “nah I’m gonna see what this diaper can really do!”  So, she slept 2.5 hours and woke up WITHOUT a leak!  I was shocked.  Even if I had left a disposable on that long it would have leaked everywhere.  In my experience disposables hold more pee than all the cloth diapers I’ve used in the past.  So we were at 5.5 hours with no leak at this point.  So I decided to just see how long the diaper would last before a leak.  It was after 7 hours that it finally started to leak.  I was shocked and totally sold on this diaper!  With my high end brand name diapers I get leaks if I leave them on longer than a few hours.  The also carry a “Heavy Wetter” diaper that will last even longer overnight!  And as my own disclaimer I change my kids religiously and Emelia NEVER gets diaper rashes!  So my advice: go buy some of these Tender Tushies diapers!  You can also visit my facebook page until Saturday to enter to win a free diaper!  Click here to enter.
